One of my favorite quotes is from Sallvador Dali: The only difference between myself and a madman is that I am not mad. Yesterday I was thinking about MADNESS and that the very act of dealing with madness can keep you from going insane. So I create madness... through my art to keep me from going insane... Get it?

It's The Madness That Keeps Us From Going Insane

© Mark Betcher

Do you get up in the morining half out your mind
From a night of restless sleep to meat your grind
Do you cuss the life out of every life you cross
Or cry on the cross of every life that you lost
Did God Lord Jesus save your soul today
Or did waste your time and pray and pray and pray

When your heart beats out of pain
And no part of you can stand up to the strain
It’s the pain It’s the strain can’t explain bad brains
It’s the madness that keeps us from going insane
It’s the madness that keeps us from going insane

Face the day walk backwards walk blind
State your ID from your subconscious mind
Do a dance today a step you don’t know
Or just be cool Baby go with the flow
Did you say that you are a robot today
Keep that wind up manical man at bay

When your heart beats out of pain
And no part of you can stand up to the strain
It’s the pain It’s the strain can’t explain bad brains
It’s the madness that keeps us from going insane
It’s the madness that keeps us from going insane

Just a human machine being born to break
Soul particles in heaven or in fresh angel cake
You can’t stop the process there is no brake
Fluffie pink brains slow down make no mistake
Did you rattle and roll and shake and shake and shake
But still can’t catch your breath in this rat race

When your heart beats out of pain
And no part of you can stand up to the strain
It’s the pain It’s the strain can’t explain bad brains
It’s the madness that keeps us from going insane
It’s the madness that keeps us from going insane
