Seems like everyone has to write a song about the river. I guess it is how a river can flow peaceably or just rage. People are like that. This is a song about chasing a woman... but never catching her.

Blue River Crawling

Well... Well Well
Well, a river of blues makes me crawl up stream
A river of blues makes me crawl up stream
Yeah, I crawl like a snake woman, just to hear you scream

Scream woman scream. Scream for me baby
I’m your honey man and you’re my Queen Bee
I’ll be the last man standing by you on my knees
You’ll be the first woman to hear my crying please

I parked at the cross roads. And open the door for you
In the rear view mirror I see the reflection I once knew
If the world was flat, Honey, I fly off the edge with you
You be gone now Woman and I don’t know what to do.

MMMMMM
Blue river crawlin’ after you
MMMMMM
Blue river crawlin’ crawlin’ after you

Now I draws up road map Woman, it shows some the way
But you don’t understand how far Baby I had to travel just to stay
Now down on my luck and I lost my will to pray
Blue river crawlin’ Crawlin’ is all I can say

MMMMMM
Blue river crawlin’ after you
MMMMMM
Blue river crawlin’ crawlin’ after you

A river of blues won’t wash away a bone dry day
Your heat bakes me honey. Your sweet talkin’ words don’t play
Yeah, I crawl like a King Snake, I’m a lookin’ for my next prey.
Blue river crawlin’ Is all I can say

Well Well Well...
Blue river crawlin’. Can no longer dwell.
If I’m the last man standing. You’ll hear me yell
Throw away that key to my blue prison cell
I’ll be the last man standing. Farwell
